This is The SCOOP, a newsletter filled with news updates from the Sterling College Observer.
The Sterling College Observer Online Post (SCOOP) aims to supplement the Sterling College Observer (SCO) by aggregating the most pertinent and interesting content into a periodic email newsletter that is sent directly to the inboxes of individuals throughout the Sterling College ecosystem, as well as the Sterling community.
It highlights SCO news and sports articles written by SCO journalists. It serves as an effective learning experience for students, who will have the final authority over what is published. It is operated as part of the CM153J Journalism Lab course.
The SCOOP and all other SCO products are designated forums of free speech. Sterling College students make all editorial decisions. It is distributed for no charge, and the opinions expressed via editorials, columns, guest columns, reviews, advertisements, letters, or editorial cartoons are not necessarily those of the staff, faculty, student body, or the institution.
The SCOOP will be distributed on a periodic and regular basis, arriving in email inboxes on Fridays during the academic semester. Ideally, this will be a weekly publishing schedule, though a bi-weekly or monthly schedule may be used if necessary. Additionally, bonus distributions may occur in the event of important news taking place.
